About Us:
We are the friends
and family of Sarah Stone, a 14 year-old Florida
girl, who died tragically when the car in which
she was riding was struck by another car driven
by a 16 year-old who was speeding and under the
influence of alcohol.
We have created
this site to honor Sarah's life and to warn
parents of the dangers teens face during the
first few years on the roadways. We have
thoroughly studied all aspects of teen driving
and believe that parent/teen driving contracts
may be the most effective means of minimizing
risk for young drivers.
Sarah’s mother
has focused on the consequences of drinking and
driving. She is a member of MADD (Mothers
Against Drunk Drivers) and regularly speaks to
DUI offenders. Sarah’s father has worked with
high schools to help students develop their own
safe driving program.
We constantly
search the Internet for sites with useful
information for parents with teens who are in
their first years behind the wheel.
Our goal is to
help other parents and teenagers understand the
risks and consequences of unsafe driving. We
offer guidance and use our firsthand experience
to teach others how to avoid becoming involved
in a tragedy.
We do not accept contributions but ask parents
interested in making a difference to use their
energy and resources to increase awareness in
their respective communities. Working with local
high schools on a safe driving program and
encouraging other parents to insist on a driving
contract are a few of the most effective ways to
help reduce the number of deaths associated with
teenage driving. |
